Sticky Fingers: 12 Short Stories by JT Lawrence REVIEW
Rating. 3.5/5
Why does Sticky Fingers remind me of Bitter Sweet? Are they the same author? No. But they are not a million miles apart. That being said, Sticky Fingers is altogether more the sort of thing. Still not something I would pay for (I’m on a Kindle Unlimited trial) but with some good bits that I might read idly whilst waiting to be called into the dentist. Travelling Slacks was one of these. The first story was kind of poignant, the second was a complete drag, the third was a story synopsis disguised as a story (tell rather than show) but still made me pause at the end, and then Travelling Slacks actually made me chuckle. Where it let itself down was repeating the same twist and then milking it til it just got silly. This is an author who has a good idea, doesn’t work too hard on it and moves on. Consequently Sticky Fingers is not all that delicious but the stories have some sticky bits.
